Though my career I have maintained an interest in sustainability and productivity outcomes for the agricultural industries. I have had a particular interest in the role of research and development in informing these outcomes, and improving the livelihoods of those working in agricultural industries.I began my career in Australia, lived for a number of years in New Zealand and until recently resided in Fiji. Whilst in Fiji I was looking after our young son and engaged in part-time consultancy work. In addition to the technical work I have undertaken as a consultant I have worked for a range of organisations in areas related to agricultural and rural policy and advocacy, innovation policy and research management in areas including the agriculture and fishing industries, climate science and natural resource management. These roles have included work across a range of technical areas related to food production and the rural sector and with a diverse range of stakeholders including primary producers, policy makers and researchers. My recent work in the Pacific region has also given me experience working with stakeholders from different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds in a number of developing countries.
