• Awarded the 4DPlates Applications project by Statoil worth 9 million kroner (about AUD$1.5 million) over four years• Developed close collaboration with Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, winning a funding for a postdoctoral project as part of the South Atlantic Margin Processes and Links with onshore Evolution as well as being jointly involved in supervision of a PhD student. • Provided advice to Kalkulo AS, a subsidiary of Simula, in their development of the 4DPlates software.

During my thesis, I concentrated on developing convection models with imposed plate motion and thermal histories for both the Kamchatka and Tonga-Kermadec regions. One of the key results was verifying plate models for these regions and understanding the implication of these models on the dynamic evolution of the regions basins and mantle heterogeneities. Finally, I examined the link between trench migration and plate boundary forces and compared these with data from back-arc basins. I concluded that episodicity in back-arc basin formation was caused by the dynamic evolution of the subducting-overriding plate system.

I lectured on seismology in 3rd year geophysics classes in 2005 and 2006. I also tutored the Marine Geophysics classes, working from both prepared material and producing my own.
