In five years increased the number of students registering for Advanced Placement courses from 150 to 275. Substantially increased the pass rate in United States Government and Economics courses from 50% to 70%- Used the passion and energies of the students to create the first student-led diversity organization in the school, which helped students to overcome racial stereotypes and gender bias by creating a safe place in the school for students to channel their grievances. Encouraged students to work within the system to effect the changes they need. Actively recruited minority students and faculty to be a part of the change the school was experiencing- Faculty sponsor for “International Night,” the school’s premier cultural event. Expanded the participation in this event from 250 persons to well over 2000 persons. Brought more cultural diversity and national pride to the celebration by aggressively recruiting and involving more parents and students- Annually attended the National Association of Independent School (N.A.I.S) and People of Color Conference (P.O.C.C) in order to become more familiar with the new trends in diversity.
