As a determined, driven and hardworking individual I fought against all the odds to be the first member of my family to attend university. Once there, the true journey began, as my desire to learn and develop not only myself but my knowledge of chemistry grew. Having created a concrete foundation during the earlier years I felt a surge of intrigue overwhelm me as the intensity of the studies only increased all the way up to the most advanced chemistry modules. These made the final year the hardest but most enjoyable experience during my time at university and reignited my passion for this wonderful subject. My time was also spent as course leader in all three years of study. The role significantly improved my communication skills being a direct source of contact for students to voice their concerns and their positive thoughts! Outside of university I worked part time as a hospitality employee and these experiences taught me important life lessons about working in a humbling environment.
