Shanghai based - leading Huntsman's purchasing organisation across Asia Pacific

Established role of Purchasing Director for Asia Pacific managed out of Brussels while integrating raw Materials spend management and purchasing organisation following acquisition of Basle based "Vantico" (previously Ciba Specialty Chemicals)

Indirect Spend + Capex for newly established Corporate Purchasing team formed upon acquisition of ICI businesses by Huntsman

Following the decision of Huntsman not to buy the ICI Hydrocarbons Business on their first approach in 1997 I left my role as Production Manager on the Teesside JV Oil Refinery and joined the full time Booz Allen Hamilton led re-engineering project for this business. Outcome was a reduction in annual operating costs of GBP 11M and a "buy" decision when Huntsman came calling again in 1999.

Joined ICI as a process engineer and then moved through a range of plant and prodcution site managment positions including the running of a carbonylation alcohol refinery, high hazard phenol plant, ammonia & nitric acid plants and joint-venture oil refinery.
