As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Carolina One Real Estate Services, my most important responsibility is to drive the profitability of the company by (1) collaborating with our BICs to grow our core residential sales business (2) increasing the success rate of our Mortgage, Title, and Insurance businesses (3) driving growth of our multiple vacation rentals businesses, and (4) managing all aspects of our back-end operations (IT, Accounting, HR, Facilities Management and Compliance). My other responsibilities include agent recruiting and retention, associate and employee compensation plan design, defining and producing the leading and lagging metrics we use to measure performance across the organization, identifying market trends and expansion opportunities, cash management and forecasting, and leading other strategic initiatives for the company.Previously, I was the Broker in Charge of one of Carolina One's flagship offices. During my tenure as BIC, the market share of the office doubled, the profitability improved from a slightly negative position in 2010 to healthy profits in 2013, and we went from the #14 office in the Charleston MLS by volume in 2008 to the #2 office by volume in 2013. Prior to serving as a BIC, I was a sales agent for several years. Separately, I have been fortunate to serve in several voluntary leadership positions that are important to our industry. I was the President of the Board of Directors at the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors and the President of the Charleston Regional Multiple Listing Service. I have been on the Board of Directors of the MLS or CTAR since 2010 and I have served on the Board of Directors for South Carolina Realtors since 2011. Currently, I am serving in a Regional Vice President role for SCR representing more than 25% of South Carolina Realtors. These positions have given me a broader view of issues facing our industry including data ownership and syndication, and the conflicts inherent in a member-driven organization where the interests of all of the members aren't always aligned.
