I am in private practice combining a specialty in Sports Medicine with a general Family Medicine orientation and a Mind Body Pain Management focus. I see patients three days a week, in West LA, CA. I play golf, write, and consult or speak on my days off. I am the author of Think Away Your Pain, the MindBody Workbook, The lessons. Dr. Sarno taught me, and Understanding and Healing from TMS.

I've been on staff for over 15 years. I am part of a Clinical Integration program and therefore very involved with quality measures and the like relating to my clinical practice.

I directed the research efforts of a small non-profit organization studying back pain and the mindbody healing method. We published a number of research papers. SMI-mindbodyresearch dot org has this information.

While developing my private practice part-time in Beverly Hills, I had an opportunity to work part-time as a Sprots Medicine consultant for Camber Clinics, a multidisciplinary group that featured musculoskeletal medicine and chiropractic. I became Medical Director for over a year, director of Quality Assurance. The group folded due to excessive mid-level management, poor corporate focus, and insufficient cash flow. Lessons learned--- this led to me transitioning to private practice in Culver City and continuing in Beverly Hills, from Feb. 2002 to present. This was the "final straw", so to speak, in my various opportunities to work for others, rather than run my own practice.
