I assist the Facility Management Services at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Leeds, MA.

I created a fun, safe, and inspiring learning environment for kids 5-11 yrs. old (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade). I worked at Templeton Elementary School (K-2nd), and when the kids weren't at school, they were with us. We had two groups of kindergartners (AM and PM), and first and second graders joined us when school ended. With a predictable routine, we offered snack, time to play on the playground, curriculum activities, and free-play at interest areas (Arts & Crafts, STEM, Puzzles & Games, etc.). In my normal role, I supported the main teacher; but it was not uncommon for me to fill-in and be the teacher for the day. Additionally, when other sites needed help (ex: teachers call in sick), I was often asked to fill-in at their sites as an aide. In this way, I visited all the public elementary schools in Atascadero and Templeton. This position gave me the wonderful opportunity to work with kids, refine my conflict-resolution skills, be more mindful of how to model good behavior, improve my teamwork skills on a close-knit team (four people), and regularly interact with the public (parents) and other professionals (such as the school staff). Furthermore, it is child care: I needed to be watchful of kids' allergies, patch them up when they got hurt, comfort them during tough times, guide them towards better behavior, make sure every kid is always accounted for (regular head counts), and encourage them to grow and explore the world.Academically, I completed a three-course program which prepares professionals to earn the Child Development Associate credential (19 CEU's / 9 College Units).Note: I worked for the subsidiary company Champions (school-age kids) which is under the holding company KinderCare Learning Companies.

I assisted lead technicians to install & troubleshoot residential HVAC systems. This involved memorizing the names of common components, crawling in attics to install duct insulation and furnaces, brazing a couple copper pipes, wiring one or two components, replacing refrigerant, driving company vehicles to buy and move supplies, and more. Unfortunately, even while always wearing an N95 mask, I was only able to last a month before it became very difficult for me to breathe in the 100+ deg. F attics, due to my asthma. Nevertheless, I still earned the EPA 608 Universal certification (specifies who can maintain, service, repair, or dispose of appliances that contain regulated refrigerants) during my employment.

With attention to detail, efficiency, and consistency; I utilized a chop saw, drill presses, drills, and various other tools and machinery to assemble and package a plethora of different plastic and metal dog doors (some with glass panes). I also performed various warehouse duties and used equipment such as pallet jacks and the WAV lift vehicle. For a few months, I also trained new employees and performed hands-on interviews. Furthermore, I effectively and politely communicated with all levels of company leadership to solve problems. While most of the functions for my role were independent, I was known for being one of the few people in the company to know everybody's name, and my manager knew he could trust me to help others when needed.

In a timely manner, I graded quizzes and recorded the scores in an Excel sheet. Additionally, I utilized filters to improve the organization of the Excel sheets I was given. Occasionally, I worked through problems to identify the causes of wrong answers to appropriately award partial credit.

I drove around Cal Poly's campus reading 200+ utility meters once a month, and managed utility invoices for 100+ accounts. Additionally, I contacted companies to resolve issues with past-due invoices and created documentation for various tasks.

I assembled and wired control panels (using wire schematics) for distribution centers, such as Amazon and Walmart, independently and with senior technicians.
