Completion of two projects while working for the research center: - Deployment of a Deep Learning system on KubeflowDeployment of a Deep Learning system for face recognition and membership verification developed by SNU and KETI, with subsequent optimization of training and hyperparameter tuning using Kubeflow. This served as a first approach to the platform and as a way to decide whether to adopt it as a solution for other projects. Technologies used include Python with tensorflow for the Deep Learning system and Docker, Kubernetes and Kubeflow for the deployment. - Orchestration-based offloading between battery-powered devices in a time-constraint environmentDeveloped an orchestrator-based system capable of offloading a localization algorithm between robots in a cloud-fog environment. This was done using an additional layer on top of K8s, capable of managing deployments between different fog regions, with the development of an additional flow control component taking decisions based on the time constraint. Robotic nodes were written in C++ and Python, while for the deployment algorithm Go was instead used. The cloud nature of the project made estensive use of Docker and Kubernetes.
