Whilst running my own business, I managed to help out some colleagues from a previous role, with a start-up company, BeebotAI. Initially, I'd created some UI designs and clickable prototypes using Adobe XD. This then moved on to building some vanilla JS, HTML, CSS prototypes. Once stakeholder buy in was achieved, we then started on building actual product. After a few years of working as a part-time contractor, Beebot now have a fully fledged product with front end apps and back end management system. My role here was to assist the team in getting from ideation to product delivered. Great experience and learnt some new technologies along the way, the end delivered product is being well received by its clients.

I started life at AO as a Front End Developer / User Experience Designer with a UX Design, Conversion Focus. I created landing pages and improved conversion via the use of google analytics and heat mapping tools. I progressed into a Lead Design position focusing on tablet and touch devices. I also assisted Appliances Online with a re-brand into the new AO.COM branding and redesigned / reworked a big part of the ao.com user journey. This position taught me a lot about website customer journey and conversion optimisation and just how important it is to carry out user testing.

I designed and developed eCommerce templates and handled the redesign of the ekmPowershop.com brand. I also designed and built email marketing templates and designed company marketing material. I excelled at mobile eCommerce, ecommerce design, and front end development. Speaking to customers everyday about their designs and ecommerce requirements really gave me a good understanding of design agency style work. After building hundreds of eCommerce sites for customers, I wanted to progress into a role where I could see the inner workings of an eCommerce business, so I moved onto a more in house design and conversion role at ao.com.

I looked after the internal Microsoft Domain & Exchange servers. I also designed food packaging cartons. I produced HTML marketing emails, and built a VB / HTML system with an Access database to handle internal contact management and sales. Howarth Packaging was struggling financially, I was brought in to assist with turning the company around unfortunately the financial troubles were so great the company sadly liquidated.

I was the Axxess telephone system administrator, and Microsoft Domain & Exchange administrator.My main duties were installing users software, email clients and domain / exchange server management. I built up new machines, installed software and got new users set up on both machines and phones. I also managed the WSUS server and installed our Cisco firewalls. I assisted with our company website and got involved in our client platform server. From here I took an interest in building websites and wanted to pursue this as a career.

Arietta was my first job after college, I ordered stock and worked in the music shop, I sold and demonstrated new keyboards / pianos / guitars.I taught many students how to play the piano, guitar and organ. I really loved this job as I got to play and demonstrate instruments all day. Most of the work at Arietta was part time, especially the tutoring. In my personal life I wanted to purchase my first property and having a keen interest in IT and decided to move on to a full time IT role.
