Engineering lead for technical management of Shadow Block III Engine Upgrade Program (High Reliability Propulsion System). Coordinated engine development, aerodynamic analyses and engine integration onto the RQ-7BV2 Tactical UAS, TCDL Shadow.

Hardware engineering lead for flight simulation development group. Conducted all aspects of hardware design from requirements to implementation. Developed first non-governmental testbed for the Rockwell Collins Common Avionics Architecture Suite (CAAS) for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) version 6.5. Designed and implemented simulator power distribution, emergency control, power distribution control and all off-board interfaces to CAAS cockpit including simulated SIRFC, AN/APQ-174B MMR and AN/ZSQ-3 EO/IR systems. On site engineer for hardware/software integration. Led subcontractor team for visual projection system, motion system, control loading system and cockpit I/O. Working level knowledge of ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553B and HD-SDI busses, simulator architecture and the MH-47E and MH-47G aircraft.

Engineering lead for technical management of Apache MUMT-2, Shadow Maintenance Trainer and other unmanned programs. Provided engineering management to programs for in-house and subcontracted engineering activities. Developed internal engineering processes for work management and configuration management using Cradle. Deep working knowledge of the Cradle engineering and requirements management tool. Working knowledge of Raytheon ASENT FRACAS/FMECA toolkits. Lead Engineer for the AH-64D Manned/Unmanned Teaming Level of Interoperability - 2 program,. Managed $25M engineering effort, with follow-on low rate and full rate production of 16 battalions valued at over $55M. Provided engineering support for both low rate initial production and full rate production including electrical harnesses, sheet metal and machined components, painting and coatings, packaging and ground support equipment. Team awarded the prestigious Order of Daedalion’s award for cost/benefit ratio of system. Led system hardware and software requirements, verification, qualification and test activities. Oversaw software qualification process for LRU’s. Initial lead engineer for the UH-60M Blackhawk Electrical Trainer, and Shadow Maintenance Trainer. Experienced with the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Directorate, AED, qualification processes. Coordinated hardware and software requirements, interfaces and development between three major OEM subcontractors. Technical lead for hardware and software integrated product teams. Familiar with TCDL and BE-CDL data links, PM-UAS Interoperability Profiles (IOP) as well as Motion Imagery Standards Board standards (MISB) 601.4 and 604.1.

Developed basis for new business unit centered around lightweight remotely operated gimbaled weapons platforms. Obtained Army funding for modification of existing weapon system for implementation for a UAV class precision weapons turret. Responsible for developing systems and subsystem level specifications and interfaces based upon requirements. Designed motor control electronics and algorithms for a modular approach for guidance, navigation, tracking and gimbal stabilization. Designed, simulated and implemented an integrated Inertial Navigation System. Performed all electrical subsystems design, implementation and integration for wiring harnesses and circuit boards. Designed and implemented cryogenic radiometer filter wheel control system using DC stepper motors and for the SBIR-Low DXPS infrared telescope. Responsible for design, implementation and debug of ground support equipment including cryogenic thermal control systems. Designed and implemented the controls and instrumentation for the SBIRS-LOW calibration black body.

Management of automated test and calibration facility for anti-tank missile optics, guidance and control systems. Supervised ten technicians/soldiers in all facets of military training, activities, and employment. Responsible for section budget and inventory of spare parts and bench stock. Managed maintenance scheduling of division anti-tank missile assets and section test equipment. Insured quality assurance and quality control standards were met. Developed and implemented maintenance programs for automated test facility.
