My main responsibility it to supervise the night shift from 3:00 to 12:00 pm. Goals, as they can change from hour to hour depending on the situations that arise, are determined in order to maintain optimal running conditions. After 5:00 pm I am the only manager/supervisor in the plant, overseeing all plant operations and assisting maintenance where needed to keep the plant up and running. When problems arise I rely on my trouble shooting skills to diagnose the problem and develop vital solutions. I make use of the variety of resources at hand; other team members, contacting other management personal, or outside contractors. I order testing equipment for the CO2 plant and other tools/supplies for the plant. I have assisted in complete tear downs of the CO2 compressor and the ammonia compressor. I unload trucks using a forklift, check in chemical trucks, check for proper paper work and make sure proper safety procedures are followed. I would collect samples and make proper adjustment to keep the plant running smoothly. Sample running was done on a variety of testing equipment to obtain the results. I also unload trucks with the use of a forklift and verified whether a truck was hooked up to the proper location for chemical unloading. I helped in maintaining a clean plant by power washing, shoveling feed, wiping down counters. During this time I obtained my Chief B Boiler license. The office would give us tickets to pull material together for customers. This could be from a few items to several hundred. I would be responsible for seeing that the customer received the correct materials that he needed. This would also require me to pull the material together and deliver it to the proper location.
