Profile bio

About Carlos Damázio

I’m a Brazilian computer programmer who has worked with back-end, distributed systems, devops, and data infrastructure projects over the past years.Yeah, I was some weird kid that liked to mess around with my parents' computer in the 90s and early 2000s. And I also was an edgy teenager data hoarding the web while learning Bash and C with a 12.04 Ubuntu box — until I graduated in college and this hobby of mine got out of hand as I became a full-time computer programmer and software designer. Here are some fun facts:• As of today, I have six years of hands-on professional experience in formal roles, excluding internships — otherwise, I’d count as 10 years in total;• I usually stand on pragmatism… but I must admit: I’m biased towards performant tools;• I don't want to follow the management path. I'm only interested in technical roles — however, I do like to design solutions while understanding the stakeholders’ needs;• I worked on a few open source projects, being CPython and Kubernetes the main ones that I contributed to, and some pet projects of mine;• I value: self-respect and respect for others; Diversity on individual level; Curiosity — as this is paramount in our craft; Have fun — otherwise, how can any of this be sustainable?• I may respond quicker if you send me an email at “hello@carlosdmz.io”.
