An offshore-based rotational HES role working on an oil and gas production & drilling platform in the North Sea (UK sector) providing generalist & specialist health, environment and safety advisory support directly to the offshore operations leadership team and staff/contractor workforce & providing an HES interface between onshore and offshore depts. A short summary of roles & responsibilities (as a member of the platform leadership team) include:- Offshore delivery and coordination of annual HES tactical plans;- Active provision of support, advice and feedback around all areas of H,E&S compliance, liaising closely with existing onshore HES teams;- Acting as an information resource around legislative requirements across all offshore H&S and environmental Regulations;- Local SME on HES guidance, processes & procedures & embedding their operational use within the workforce;- Management of occupational health issues and monitoring (including COSHH, Noise, HAVs and Manual Handling Assessor);- Local SME on all aspects of environmental Regulatory compliance (including Chemical permitting, OPPC, OPEPs), site focal point for ISO14001 EMS compliances- Regulatory inspection (HSE, DECC, SEPA) liaison- ISSOW installation administrator & Task Risk Assessment trainer;- Auditing of systems and process in accordance with local and business unit audit plans;- Installation focal point /’champion’ and coach/ trainer for behavioural based safety (BBS) systems;- Emergency equipment trainer & ERT member (including key Incident management CCR response roles);- Incident investigation management, including root cause analysis facilitation;- Installation Radiation Protection Supervisor;- Installation safety induction coordinator;- Installation liaison and focal point to support local Safety Reps;- Meeting facilitator for local BBS steering team & environmental ‘Green Teams’; and- Coaching of workforce & L. team to improve HES fluency.

I completed a 36 month assignment working as an Environmental Specialist in the Aberdeen, UK, office providing onshore environmental support for Chevron’s European operations. My key responsibilities were: Atmospheric emissions, waste management & environmental management system (ISO14001).
