I am a Trent University graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Anthropology, and a graduate of Fleming College in the Ecosystem Management program. From my education if have an applied knowledge of mapping including GIS and remote sensing software. Through my schooling I have hands-on experience with aquatic, terrestrial, and restoration ecology. From this I have gained the ability to identify, trees, shrubs, mammals, herptiles, birds, macrobentic invertebrates, wetland plants, terrestrial plants and ferns. I know the foundation protocols of Ecosystem assessment, such as Ecological Land Classification of southern Ontario and Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network Sampling techniques. I understand and have implemented Natural Resource law when working as a Policy Programs Assistant with the MNRF. I have designed and completed a research study while on my Semester Abroad in South Africa on the common warthog and analyzed statistical, and spatial data related to the study. I have experience with writing grants, literature reviews, management strategies, policy, jurisdictional scans, and research papers.
