Profile bio

About Dusie Cassata

Entrepreneurial, strategic, and loyal, I have spent almost 15 years building a single nonprofit organization - Convergence Center for Policy Resolution - from startup to maturity. Convergence applies a collaborative problem-solving approach to local, state, and national issues where division stands in the way of progress. I joined in 2010 as a graduate intern on our U.S.-Pakistan relations project. Through regular promotions recognizing my aptitude and expanding skillset, my portfolio and responsibilities grew. After nearly 15 years of service at Convergence, I am especially proud of:--> Supporting the development of collaborative solutions to over a dozen seemingly intractable problems, including: K-12 education, incarceration, economic opportunity, long-term care, guns & suicide, health, digital discourse, nutrition, family policy, and the federal budget process.--> Creating the infrastructure to support Convergence’s growth from a budget of $500k to a budget of $4.5M at its height, including the acquisition of office space, IT, and appropriate software; the development of back office systems, internal controls, and personnel policies; and the recruitment, onboarding, and support of numerous staff and consultants.--> Managing through significant organizational change, including two CEO transitions, periods of both growth and contraction, the spinoff of a Convergence project into an independent nonprofit, and becoming a remote organization during COVID.--> Contributing my sophisticated writing skills to communications efforts across the organization - fundraising appeals, strategic plans, project reports, and more - wherever clear prose and capable copywriting were needed.--> Mentoring dozens of interns and junior staff who have gone on to careers in nonprofits, philanthropy, government, and the private sector.--> Building a committed, engaged, and diverse community of people who support Convergence’s mission.

Listed skills include Fundraising, Research, Editing, International Relations, and 12 others.
