I lead three key infrastructure areas for my organization: container services, database engineering, and traffic management.In the container services space, I have leadership responsibility for the on-prem (DC/OS) and cloud (DC/OS and EKS) container orchestration platforms. This includes defining the architectural direction along with operational responsibility for each of the platforms across our global footprint.- Defined and led the architectural direction for managing EKS across our global footprint.- Designed our strategy to migrate from our DC/OS platform to EKS in our cloud regions.- Reduced the time to deploy DC/OS in AWS from 1 month to 1 day.- Increased the speed to recover the DC/OS clusters from an average downtime of 3 hours to 11 minutes.- Went from 2 production DC/OS clusters to 11. With the largest being over 500 physical worker nodes. I have responsibility for both the architectural direction and operations of our on-prem and cloud-hosted relational database platforms. My team is responsible for operations of the on-prem (MySQL) infrastructure and shared cloud(RDS) infrastructure. - Defined the deployment and adoption strategy for RDS, moving from a centralized operation team to a product team owned and operated model. This resulted in being able to deploy 200+ RDS clusters within a single night. It removed the reliance on a single team by promoting the adoption of DevOps practices.- Managed our migration from MySQL 5.6 to 5.7I lead the SRE group that is working to define the end-to-end networking architecture for our organization. We are responsible for designing the networking architecture for both our on-prem and cloud regions. - Guided the design of a self-service system that allows development teams to programmatically define and roll-out DNS and level 7 load balancing. The service guarantees that all current practices and guidance is met.

Guide multiple teams in the development and operation of the core infrastructure components powering the HealtheIntente organization within Cerner. I’ve helped to lead the operationalization of the container orchestration strategy (DC/OS and Kubernetes), relational data strategy (MySQL and AWS RDS), operational insight strategy (Splunk and New Relic), and configuration-as-code (Chef).

Guided the technical direction of Cerner’s Diagnostic Radiology Imaging Viewer, ranging from the technologies used to the overall architecture of the solution. Tech lead over the Media Viewing Framework used by multiple teams within Cerner and by strategic external partners to develop various viewing applications with diverse workflows.- Increased speed to deploy while also increasing the quality of the code deployed.- Designed a framework that was utilized by external companies to integrate their solutions into our applications.- Developed a prototype web application that could be used for viewing radiology images. This was built on WebGL.
