About Dustin Ballinger

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2000 and spent the next seven years on active duty with the USAF performing numerous functions as a developmental engineer. While on active duty I earned a Master degree in Spacecraft Operations & Management from Webster University. After separating from the USAF I started at Overwatch Tactical Systems in September of 2007 as a System Engineer and later a Project Engineer for Multi-INT collaboration software. In July 2010 I was hired by SAIC to be the Configuration Manager in Bagram, Afghanistan for 6 months. After a brief break I returned to Afghanistan as a Senior Embedded Mentor, training US Army (35F) on the tools and datasources available in DCGS-A. I continued to support Leidos (Formerly SAIC) as a Senior System Engineer in an unscheduled professional position.During my deployment I saw the need to bridge the gap between how software is designed and how it is used in the field and my unique skill of speaking both languages. My wife Amy and I started Intelligent System Support (ISS), a Texas certified HUB to provide consulting services and subject matter expertise in the development and training of software systems. In July of 2015 we developed a hardware/software integrated product called the Q with the sole focus of creating a rapidly deployable self contained Tactical visualization System based on GPR software called Replay. the Q has grown since then to contain not only a geo-temporal map but also includes real-time trending tool called Q-Trends and an incident management system called Q-Cmd. The Q has been deployed to Hickman AFB, HI, several operational tests and is currently supporting operations in Korea. In Jan of 2019 we moved ISS to San Juan, Puerto Rico while continuing to provide global support to our products and customers.Specialties: Software life cycle management, Agile and User focused design, DoD Acquisition Level II certified, Program Management, Software Engineering, Open-source software integration, Spacecraft Engineering, Anomaly Resolution, Ground System Engineering
