The initial objective is to propose a critical analysis of the concepts of climate risk and resilience, offering a theoretical basis for their understanding related to the social construction of environmental conflicts and sustainability in space, applied to local contexts, in contrast to the analysis models that understand risk in terms of hazards and vulnerability

Promoting partnerships with donors, academic institutions and local governments, with emphasis on Latin America, and formulation of international cooperation projects for the resolution of environmental conflicts

Support advisory and consulting projects in inter-institutional management, promotion and coordination of scientific-technical events, preparation of academic programs, review of technical texts in bioengineering and promotion of social and community participation for the development of soil bioengineering in the city of Bogotá

Direct and respond the processes for identification, study, analysis and monitoring of natural hazards, vulnerabilities, risks; as well as the effects of climate change. Elaborate technical concepts, diagnostics and risk certifications; elaborate designs for risk reduction, territorial recovery, and adaptation to climate change; and provide technical assistance in situations of risk and emergency

Provide the conceptual and methodological elements to identify and understand the risks, the origin of them, and therefore, the most appropriate mechanisms for their management from an interdisciplinary perspective, and taking into account the contributions that each student can make to optimize these processes from their proper field of knowledge or profession
