During my time in the IT industry, I have had the opportunity to try myself in several product-related roles. Each of these roles has provided valuable insights that have shaped me as a professional and helped me develop my approach to work:Project Manager: In this role, I learned to speak the language of the clients, plan and decompose tasks.Business Analyst:In one of the product teams where I worked as a designer, I temporarily took on the role of a business analyst. I was intrigued by diving into business analysis as it is a crucial stage preceding design. I learned to gather business requirements and decompose them into user stories and use cases. It was important to receive feedback from developers on the clarity and accuracy of the requirements I documented. As a result, the documentation became valuable for developers and testers.UX Designer:I gained experience working as a User Experience (UX) designer, collaborating closely with UI designers. This experience greatly influenced my approach, teaching me to thoroughly work on user scenarios, logic, and information architecture before transitioning to creating visual designs. This approach allows for early-stage product testing, consideration of scalability, and saves time and effort by preventing rework in later stages.Product Designer:This can be considered the ultimate goal I aimed for and where I continue to grow deeper. Product design interests me because it encompasses the entire lifecycle of a product, from the ideation phase where the designer conducts research and tests hypotheses to bringing the product to market and continuously improving its features. In my approach to product design, I allocate my activities as follows:30% - Research (market, users)20% - Hypothesis generation and validation30% - Analysis and design20% - Visual designMy work is focused on achieving business goals, improving product metrics, enhancing user journeys, and solving user problems.Design Lead:The specific tasks I undertake as a design lead vary depending on the organization. This role resonates with me because I enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues, implementing best practices at a company level, and helping solve challenges faced by designers.I strive to develop expertise in adjacent areas because I believe that close collaboration and understanding of colleagues' work are essential to achieve maximum awareness and goal alignment. The flexibility of roles within Agile teams allows me to take on additional responsibilities if they contribute to the team's overall objective.
