Started a new position as Principal Applications Specialist within ICT at the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

Responsible for or contributing to effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the RiskMan system within WBHHS. Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the software. Ensure that software systems, and related procedures adhere to organisational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

Coordinate, plan and develop health and safety resources, training, workshops and presentations either locally or in cooperation with Health Service teams and networks.Coordinate and deliver health and safety training, workshops and presentations that align with Health Service strategies for improving health and safety performance within a designated Service;Analyse injury, WorkCover, and human resources data to establish risk profiles and prioritise audit and inspection processes in facilities within a designated area;Undertake auditing and inspections of relevant systems ascertaining compliance with legislation and approved policy/guidelines, and establish risk profiles and implement improved health and safety management systems in facilities within a designated area;Coordinate and review the investigation of serious accidents and incidents in facilities with staff, and facilitate the preparation of management reports on these issues;Provide effective comprehensive OHS and injury management consultancy services to facilities and staff, in keeping with Health Service priorities;Provide advice and reports to management, both at the Health Service and Corporate level, on health and safety legislation and performance issues affecting facilities in the Health Service;Support local networks of appointed Workplace Health and Safety Officers (WHSO), Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators (WRRTWC) and elected Workplace Health and Safety Representatives (WHSR);Carry out the duties of the Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator as required;Contribute to major, complex occupational health and safety research and projects; andMonitor and interpret health and safety legislative developments and practices and disseminate this information to relevant Health Service personnel.

Conduct regular audits and reviews of work practices to ensure the highest possible standards in the delivery of quality client services in accordance with corporate goals and best practice philosophy.Monitor and report on the service performance and outcomes to ensure that the unit is providing a service that meets client needs, providing statistical data to management through the use of client surveys, staff questionnaires, and client feedback, identifying any training and service shortfalls. Promote, support guide and advise Managers and Staff in relation to OH&S issues including the provision of staff training programs, especially targeting known and potential problems to meet individual, group and organizational needs. Advise the General manager and Operations Manager on the significance of changes, or potential situations which may impact on the overall performance of the service. Develop, Coordinate and/or facilitate all core competency training for the linen service to ensure compliance with Queensland Health and or legislative requirements, including infection control, WH&S, Materials handling and Human resource training such as Code of Conduct, Workplace Harassment.Act as the Fire Safety Advisor for the Laundry fulfilling on requirements of the role under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008
