Paks Karate Academy has been a major part of my development as a teacher, artist, and a human being. I began my journey in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do at the age of 8 in January of 2000 and reached 1st Degree Black Belt in 2006. I began running the Karate program at the United North Amityville Youth Organization (UNAYO) in 2008. I held the position of lead instructor of this program for 12 years through March of 2020. I currently am the Head of the Belt Assessments and test students once a month for belt rankings.

Project Morry is a year round program that strives to serve youth from under-resourced communities; serving Manhattan, Bronx, Long Island, Port Chester, Elmsford, Bridgeport (CT), & Harlem (separate from the original Manhattan location). During my tenure, I was a Community Coordinator that worked with all age groups from rising 4th graders to seniors in high school on goal setting, classwork, skill development, resume construction, job readiness, college success preparation and overall life enhancement. I also produced the Project Morry studio albums for 5 years and collaborated with the youth in my studio program to encourage expression, creativity & true artistry.

In this role, I promoted educational advancement by gaining familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for different students. I also utilized IEPs and formulated personalized student’s future educational, behavioral, and personal goals with the teacher. It was important to improve students’ outcomes by analyzing data and developing effective strategies and support the teacher in reviewing student attendance and homework.
