As a Program Manager focusing on refugee economic empowerment, my current focus is developing resources and training for refugee employment professionals as part of the Switchboard refugee resettlement technical assistance team (see www.switchboardta.org). During my time as a Program Manager for Economic Empowerment at LIRS, I have also managed corporate partnerships and participated in the design of innovative pilot projects, from initial vision, to grant-writing, to launch and implementation.

As the Network Engagement Specialist for Higher, I work everyday to provide excellent technical assistance support to front line refugee employment staff at all nine national resettlement agencies. My job is to understand the challenges that refugee employment staff face in helping newly arrived refugees obtain employment, and to work with the Higher team to provide resources, training opportunities and ongoing support that connects field staff to best practices and innovative strategies. We work hard to make this support as accessible as possible by utilizing a variety of communications platforms including our website/blog (www.higheradvantage.org), our free Online Learning Institute, webinars, in person training events, written publications and resources, and on-call support. It is a privilege to support refugee employment staff in the critically important and challenging work that they do on behalf of refugees. Higher is a program of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and is funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
