National Western Life Insurance Company is based in Austin, TX. National Western is actively seeking senior mortgage loans secured by quality real estate throughout the United States. We prefer loan terms of 7 years or longer. Real estate types considered as collateral include multifamily, office, retail, industrial, self-storage and mixed-use. Our sweet spot range is $5 MM to $15 MM, but we do consider and pursue larger loans selectively. We have a preference for well diversified rent rolls. We often find success providing creative solutions to situations that our institutional competitors shy away from. David has completed over $2 billion in commercial real estate transactions, including $1.2 billion of loan origination, $350 million of equity transactions, plus numerous loan workouts and sales. David excels at developing business relationships. He has successfully marketed and "sold" new and expanded CRE mortgage loan platforms to borrowers and intermediaries. Completed loan transactions include $375 million of multifamily, $560 million of commercial and $65 million of hospitality.David is adept at identifying and securing investment opportunities consistent with portfolio return expectations, risk parameters and relative value realities. He has broad experience with both debt and equity investments across property types and disciplines (lending, acquisitions, dispositions, asset and portfolio management, negotiations, workouts, underwriting and valuation).
