Bridge Engineer/Bridge Inspection Team Lead
*Perform hands-on inspections of all structural and safety components of bridges using access methods including ladder, bucket truck, and a variety of ropes access techniques. *Assemble pertinent documentation for analysis prior to inspections and devise an inspection plan to best utilize available resources and promote inspection efficiency.*Coordinate with local agencies to obtain access permits, make critical finds known, obtain traffic control when necessary, and possibly facilitate bridge closures.*Collaborate with team members to document conditions of bridge components as outlined by contract in order to verify previously noted deficiencies and ensure comprehensive assessment.*Partner with team members and consult field experts to determine extent of deficiency, research repair/replacement options, and conduct cost/benefit analysis.*Utilize CAD to generate models which illustrate the extent and locations of deficiencies found, existing component configurations, proposed modifications, and new design specifications. *Transcribe inspection data and research conclusions into reports, summarizing findings and proposing rehabilitation recommendations with research-supported cost estimates. *Support several state departments of transportation by being prepared and available to conduct emergency structural inspections should a state of emergency be declared.
