My name is Dylan Amos. I have been interested in engineering since high school. At Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado, I was accepted into the STEM program. This stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Due to my experiences in this program, I learned a lot about computer-aided design and the engineering design process. After high school, I decided to attend Colorado Mesa University and join the engineering partnership program through the University of Colorado Boulder. One advantage of taking the University of Colorado Boulder classes in Grand Junction is that there are great outside adventure opportunities. Some of my favorite pastimes include hiking, camping, and rock climbing and Grand Junction has several places to enjoy these activities.My major is mechanical engineering. So far, my favorite part has been learning about the computer techniques engineers use to solve problems such as MATLAB. After graduation, I am seeking a career in the aerospace or defense industry. I have always had a desire to learn more about planes and rockets and possibly work on them. I like to be accurate and precise when I work on things also, I am not afraid of a challenge. The aerospace industry is going to play a huge role in shaping the future of our society and I would like to be a part of that. I would like to change the world in the aerospace industry.
