I am a UNT alumni with a BSET in Mechanical Engineering and Technology. I have always known I’ve wanted to be an engineer. I enjoyed taking things apart and seeing how they worked since I can remember. I have been studying engineering since 7th grade when my school offered basic engineering.In my sophomore year of high school I earned my associates certification in SolidWorks and the next year I went to a career center and earned my 10 hour OSHA certification as well. While at the career center I learned how to operate and code CNC machines like the lathe and mill. I also got to work in a team for competitions like SkillsUSA.While school was out over the summer I got more hands on experience by working at my grandfather's companies ("J-Mac Tools" and "Eagle Mountain Outfitters"). While I worked there I got on the job experience and the opportunity to work with design engineers and drafters. During my junior year of college my friend and I started our own plastic fabrication company where we designed and manufactured displays using acrylic sheets. While there I learned how to run a business and the manufacturing process. Due to Covid and supply chain issues we had to close our doors about a year and a half after we opened.
