Profile bio

About Dylan Hendricks

I am a recent graduate from the University of Iowa College of Public Health, having received a Master of Science degree in epidemiology with a Certificate in Emerging Infectious Disease Epidemiology. I am interested in entry-level or higher work in any area of epidemiology, though I have a primary interest in the area of infectious disease, with molecular epi a close second. I have two years of experience using statistical analysis programs common in epidemiological work such as SAS, R, and Stata, along with skills in scientific writing throughout my education, culminating in a master's thesis manuscript and presentation which I successfully defended.Currently, I am a laboratory fellow with the Association of Public Health Laboratories since September 2023, working on multiple infectious disease and newborn screening related projects at the Illinois Department of Public Health's Chicago laboratory. Most of these have a focus on exploring, validating, and/or implementing sequencing assays which would be new to this laboratory. In my downtime, I am an avid long distance runner, having recently completed my second marathon. I am also a reader, music listener, and fan of spending time in nature whenever possible.
