Dylan "D.R." Johnson has developed his passion for writing throughout most of his life. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma to study Creative Writing, where he heavily studied screenwriting and the industry surrounding it, as well as comedic writing, comic book writing, and prose writing for multiple genres, particularly sci-fi and fantasy. He crafted multiple screenplays throughout college as well as short stories and novel outlines.After graduating, he wrote video scripts for a career-focused education company while editing screenplays and novel manuscripts. As 2019 began, D.R. went on to write novels as well as screenplays. His debut novel "Survival, Dark Times" was published in July 2019, and a sequel followed in 2020. He also took his first professional screenwriting job with a production company, writing an animated feature. In 2020, he began ghostwriting and editing non-fiction book manuscripts while also taking a writing internship at Hollywood Casting & Film. Along with writing his own short films, he assisted in casting sessions and decisions. As the months went on, he became the Co-Head Writer of the nationwide casting agency/studio from 2020-2022, running their writing team and providing editorial feedback on all short films and web series. He assisted with production feedback/details as needed as well as networked with various industry professionals including directors, writers, and actors. His photographic memory plays a key role in managing every project in a way that ensures consistency from conception to the final stages, and his love for people - both on the page and off the page - fuels his desire to bring writing projects to life.
