A swarm of mapleseed drones is dropped from high altitude and collect environmental and atmospheric data as they fall.Each mapleseed drone carries a 1 inch PCB with sensors to collect information on temperature, wind speed, altitude, and global position, and an RF transmitter to send the data back to a base station in real time.

Established a network and wrote control algorithms to autonomously fly multiple quadcopters in formation. Used OptiTrack motion capture technology to track objects in the room, sending pose updates to the quadcopter over an ad-hoc wireless network up to six times a second.
