Ambitious naturalist with a deep interest in the marine world. In July 2016 I started a position on the commercial fishing boat the NormaK III in Point Pleasant, NJ. I had worked for 4 years as deckhand mate while gaining experience such as public speaking and public outreach, identified marine life, followed fishing regulations, and taught various fishing techniques. I attended Ocean County College and graduated with a degree in biology. Afterwards, I continued my studies in Stockton University in January, 2022. That spring and following summer I assisted Dr. Thompson from Stockton University in her research working with oyster restoration in the Barnegat Bay and Mullica River. During this incredible opportunity, we assessed multiple populations of oysters that have been planted in the bay and monitored factors contributing to their health and mortality. Through my time in both OCC and Stockton I have made professional connections with professors and colleagues. I continue to learn and get involved in the field to make myself a better candidate.
