I work as a contracted Security Officer from Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. to Bonneville Power Administration, where my main duties include monitoring the access/access control to the client site as well as serving as a first responder in the event of an emergency (whether fire, medical, or law enforcement involvement). Under this contract, I've grown tremendously to master new tasks that include various differentiating security posts and their duties such as conducting vehicle searches, primary and post-secondary screenings for visitors using walk-through and handheld magentometers, as well as processing client visitor request forms prior to visitors arriving on site (and respectively maintaining their appropriate archive). My responsibilities include maintaining a physical security presence on the hotel, ensuring compliance for guests/employees/other persons with hotel and corporate policies as well as Washington State laws. This position required an active TS//SCI clearance in order to have access to the tools provided to carry out the mission. I was a Reservist following completion of Initial Entry Training, and my unit fell under authority of NSA/CSS.
