As the The Student Missionary Union (SMU) Senior Director of Marketing and Communications (MarCom), I am to publicizes SMU as a whole, as well as for specific SMU events throughout the year. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications acts a consultant for creative advice and marketing ideas for all SMU events through the use of all forms of media. I am responsible for all promotions, advertisements, and films. While subject to the authority of the President, the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications has the final say on all forms of publicity. The Director of Marketing and Communications works with and supervises the Graphic Designers, Videographers and a Media Coordinator.

Led and trained new employees on all baseline functions of the bookstore (register, receiving, online orders, restocking, customer service, handling money, and security). I also keep in contact with other stores to ensure our products are being sent and received properly. Lastly, I am a problem solver for anything technically related, customer related, or functionally related to the operations of our bookstore.

As the publicity chair, I am in charge of managing the website (that I recently built for them), managing SEO through adwords, managing social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Yelp), managing the blog, managing our information put out through local newspapers and websites, photography, and graphics.

I had two main jobs to uphold at all times. The first job was to manage the pastors schedule through online and mobile apps that connected to the larger church staff. I did this through having constant contact with outside companies and people to uphold a consistent and unchanging schedule that was easy to read and understand for the staff. I was also in charge of an internship called "Immersion," in which I delegated work inside and outside of the church to 9 other students for 9 months.
