I get excited about working with clients in creating tools to solve their complex problems!My skillset is broad:• I studied optimization (OR) in a BE in Engineering Science (Hons I) at Auckland (2013), • In 2020 completed a Master Of Professional Studies in Data Science, to update my knowledge of the exciting world of statistical and machine learning techniques, in R and Python notebooks. My dissertation was on improving database normalization algorithms performance.• I have worked as a Systems Engineer doing requirements engineering work (soliciting, wording, trading off, validating and verifying requirements), and testing and qualifying software to the DO-178C standard for the P-3K2 Orion aircraft.• I have worked as a C# developer both in support software for the P-3K2 and also developing C# Azure Web Apps for technical structural engineering work• I have worked in modelling and simulation work for industrial clients using FlexSim, a Discrete Event Simulation engine. These have been predominantly breweries (several in NZ and AU) and ore trucking/barge studies, but a variety of other projects too. Where FlexSim's built-in functionality has been limiting, I have developed a C++ DLL to improve model speed and realistic behaviour.• I have made great use of MS Power BI in analyzing and presenting simulation results• I am very experienced MS Office, especially Excel. Consultancy work suits me to a T, because I am very social, I like to improvise and problem solve, and I love learning new skills!Personal Interests - I am a multi-instrumentalist (mainly Trumpet and Guitar), I love racquet sports, and acting, especially improv! I think my biggest social skill is drawing people out of themselves, and cheering them up.In every trade there is a margin of benefit that makes it worthwhile, otherwise we would do everything ourselves. I believe there is an ethical responsibility to share that margin with the environment, improving the society, aiding the customer, sustaining the company and the person doing the work. I want to work for an employer that follows their duty to all of these.
