As a pipefitter at Gulfship Agencies Sdn Bhd, I apply my trade degree in pipefitting and sprinkler fitter to install, maintain, and repair pipes used in various systems and processes. I work with metal fabrication and cutting tools to measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and install piping according to specifications. I also test plumbing systems for leaks and repair or replace worn parts on pumps and valves.I have been in the shipyard pipefitting industry for over two years, and I have gained valuable experience in reading blueprints and diagrams, cutting openings in walls and floors, and installing supports for pipes. I have also developed my rigging skills to safely and efficiently move and secure heavy objects and equipment. I am looking to take my skills offshore and pursue deckhand positions in the Mississippi/Louisiana area, where I can contribute to the operations and safety of the vessels.
