I have been a musician since a young age and have always had a passion of music that has flowed throughout my family. At a young age, I made a decision that I would be a record producer, beat maker and/or audio engineer.I originally went to Suffolk County Community College trying to figure out if I thought graphic design/computer art was the field that I excelled in above music. It turned out that SCCC and the graphic design field was not for me. So, a year into my career at Suffolk, I applied to Five Towns College as a business major with a concentration in audio recording and found that this is where I belong and what I am meant to do. In 2022, I graduated from Five Towns with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration.My first long-term job was becoming a clerk at Shoprite, mainly just to build up money as I went was in high school and then college. Throughout the five years I have been a clerk at Shoprite, I eventually moved my way up to being a part-time manager in the dairy department and now, part-time assistant manager in the same department, as well as being a utility clerk, working in any department that needs the help. I was recognized as being one of the hardest, consistent workers at Shoprite and was offered many opportunities in the business, but have declined anything more due to my focus on school and the business and music industries.Shoprite has allowed me to hone and gain more skills. It has introduced me in being able to manage and lead for the first time in my life and it has built confidence in the way I handle things when I do need to take action. It has helped me make decisions that I need to or should be making in the workplace. There are certain ways you have to handle things, especially in the world of retail. Thinking, but not over-thinking, about what your next move is going to be is very important, and I am lucky enough to have been able to put that into action in the position I have now. Of course, the decision-making and leading apply differently in the retail world than it does in the business or music field, but I am willing to make changes in order to be where I want to be in the future and for the rest of my career.
