When I was little I wanted to be a hockey player or a mattress tester. This is because I understood the value of working as a team towards a common goal and the importance of a good night sleep. The prior has stuck with me as I have grown up and the importance of teamwork has continued to be relevant in my life. I grew to embrace the importance of teamwork and have lead clubs such as Rho Kappa and the National English Honor Society where I served as Vice-President and Treasurer respectively. As Vice-President I was tasked with planning and running events as well as meetings. As Treasurer I analysed and managed finances as well as planned and introduced new ways to increase revenue. It was this experience as Treasurer that inspired me to pursue finance and my first opportunity to enter the world of finance came through Junior Achievement. Junior Achievement offered me and a team of my peers to start and run a business from scratch. I was the Vice-President of Finance and embraced the role immediately.
