As a member of the ledger engineering team, I am responsible for maintaining the Source of Truth for thebalances of millions of loans at Affirm. Our work supports essential operations including investor sweeps,merchant disbursements, accounting, servicing event handling, and more. My contributions include:Greenfield Development of Customer Rewards Ledger:• Spearheaded the development of Affirm’s ledger for tracking customer rewards balances.• Refactored the installment loan ledger library for reuse in other deployments.• Developed a batch pipeline to format and email reward data for accounting upload into Netsuite.Onboarding of New Originating Bank Partner:• Led the successful integration of Lead Bank into the loans ledger system, launching on time.• Enabled Affirm to diversify its originating partners.Critical Data Remediations:• Identified and resolved a legacy bug affecting customer’s balances and leaving them in a limbo state.• Coordinated with legal, customer service, and engineering teams to lead execution of a remediation plan.Onboarding of New Payment Processor:• Orchestrated the integration of Affirm Payments LLC to bypass regulatory hurdles.• Updated dozens of event handlers as the requirements caused logic to change early in the loan lifecycle• Accounted for all impact to fee adjustments, disputes, chargebacks, new fund flow, etc• Collaborated with Accounting, Payments, and Disbursements teams to identify and meet requirementsOn-Call Duties:• Diligently performed on-call responsibilities for ledger's nightly pipelines.• Resolved numerous incidents, always advocating for best practices to prevent future issues.
