As I have stepped into the role of President, I have transitioned into full management of the team. I manage events, long term planning and outlook, project timelines, and club goals. During design meetings, I provide guidance to our new subteam leads based on my past experience, and I oversee production strategies by our leads and members. Part of my job includes correspondence with the university regarding necessary processes and procedures to ensure the effective operation of our organization.

As Vice President, I helped to organize club meetings, make decisions surrounding the future of the club, and attend meetings with faculty and club advisors. I gained skills in project management and leadership while preparing to lead the club as president next year.As Treasurer, I manage club funding, budgeting, and purchasing.As Fairing Development Lead, I have planned, outlined and modeled the concept for a full fairing on our 2023-24 school year competition bike. I planned layup and manufacturing strategies for the production of our fairing and oversaw its completion for competition.

Shop techs at Cal Poly are what sets our engineering department and machine shops apart from other schools. Two on-campus fully outfitted machine shops are managed and run by student shop techs.As techs, we strive to ensure that each and every student who enters our doors, whether brand new to fabrication or with years of experience, finds a second home at our facilities. Years of techs have created that atmosphere, and today we continue to help students get their hands dirty with those same ideals in mind. At the Cal Poly Student Machine Shops we offer trainings for students in basic shop safety, hand tool use, lathe, mill, and welding trainings, as well as CNC courses. The shops are open to any student wishing to work on a personal project, and Techs on duty are always present to offer guiding advice. The shops also enable the many groundbreaking clubs that operate on campus. My journey as a shop tech is nowhere near over, and helping students on my campus find the same joy from hands-on engineering that I have is something that I continue to look forward to every day.

As a mechanical engineering intern at FlightHouse Engineering, I had the privilege of working on a variety of projects and engineering applications that allowed me to contribute to a flight vehicle in a well-rounded manner, and gain a wide array of skills. - 3D Modelling: Through designing several of my own assemblies I gained skills in mechanism design and aerodynamic design. Modelling wings and fuselages allowed me unique experience in surface modelling. - Finite Element Method(FEM): Using both hand calculations and FEM simulations, I developed my ability to analyze my own designs for potential weakness, critique the designs of others, and identify areas of improvement in our mechanical design. - Systems Testing: I managed the testing of a variety of propellers and motors, leading to the collection and analysis of data that allowed us to make informed decisions for our flight vehicles. I oversaw test design, automation, and post processing. - In-Field Problem Solving: During flight tests, I helped solve mechanical problems on the fly, ensuring a successful test in the face of challenges. I gained experience with quick thinking, problem solving, and teamwork under extreme pressure.

Through a combination of manual machining, CNC machining, fabrication, and welding paired with CAD and CAM part design I contribute to the manufacturing of expedition and research equipment. This has given me experience in CAD, CAM, CNC machine operation, manual machining with both mills and lathes, and multiple types of welding. Additionally, I ensure the shop runs smoothly through routine maintenance and cleaning of both equipment and shop work spaces.

As part of the brakes team, I gained skills in detailed part and assembly modelling in Solidworks, and applied my skills in manufacturing to help with the brakes, drivetrain and chassis subsystems.

Throughout the course of a summer internship I contributed to a project analyzing the performance of Cross Laminated Timber panels in a fire. This was achieved by analyzing char patterns on panels constructed with a variety of adhesive types and construction methods after the panels were burnt in a controlled environment for a set duration. Our findings contributed to a thesis publication on the topic.
