I am a seasoned professional with a decade of experience in media, performing arts, and social entrepreneurship in Ghana and beyond who is committed to fostering youth and community development by actively working to provide education, skills training, and support which are pressing needs of youth in my community. I am the co-founder and Executive Director of Maltiti Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized women and girls in Ghanaian communities through economic opportunities in agriculture, vocational skills, education, health, and nutrition. I am also a Theatre for Development Consultant. In 2018, I trained 50 girls in soap and beadmaking in Saboba, Northern Region. Collaborating with University of Ghana students, I volunteered to educate female students about sexual harassment and abuse. Additionally, I joined the UNFPA in 2020 as a facilitator, offering personal development training, reproductive health information, and mentorship to 500 Kayayei women.Amidst the setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I led a team of volunteers in raising funds to assist economically affected women. We conducted training for 200 young women in agriculture, financial literacy, marketing, and life skills, while also providing them with logistical support and farm management services to establish their own farms. Currently, we are guiding these women towards diversifying their businesses and reinvesting proceeds to expand their operations. This initiative has resulted in the creation of over 350 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to local economic growth and curbing migration. I was also the Stakeholder Engagement lead to ensure gender responsiveness in the implementation of a climate-adaptation building project(SANGHANA) for farming communities along the Keta Lagoon.My work is aligned with my overarching goal of fostering economically empowered youth who can make informed life decisions and are resilient against social challenges.I also co-founded Accra Food Bank and The Lead News Online. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Ghana, Certificate in Creative Activism from the Art Action Academy/Centre for Artistic Activism, Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Master’s in International Law from the University of Ghana and Certificate in Leadership in Civic Engagement from Louisiana State University. I am a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow and a 2023 Obama Africa Leader.
