I staff GBLS' School to Prison Pipeline Intervention Project. To achieve the Project's goals, I represent students of color in school discipline and related special education cases, provide legal support to youth organizers, and litigate cases/advocate for policy solutions to keep students of color in schools where they are safe, supported, and respected.

At SPLC, I worked on settling one lawsuit and initiating another. I assisted with drafting a settlement agreement and the settlement enforcement process on a school-to-prison pipeline class action lawsuit. The eventual settlement required due process prior to long-term suspensions and expulsions, and required positive behavioral interventions, among other tools, prior to school exclusion. Shelter Legal Services has walk-in legal clinics, providing comprehensive legal services (family law, immigration, subsidized housings, etc.) for HUD-homeless clients. I worked at the Cambridge Multi-Service Center. Clients come in crisis, and I completed intakes and identify legal issues. Under an attorney's supervision, I handled cases either by providing counsel during the clinic, limited representation for the next few weeks, or full representation.

MLRI does large-scale projects aimed at achieving racial, social, and economic justice. To that end, I researched and wrote persuasive policy memos sent to administrative agencies, commented on proposed state and federal regulations, and assisted with impact litigation. I've written on a simpler SNAP verification process, subsidized housing and emergency shelter denials, and immigrants' health care, TANF, and SNAP access.

As a LIFT Advocate, I was a one-stop shop, connecting clients trapped in poverty with TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, nonprofit resources, educational/vocational opportunities, and helping them navigate subsidized housing in and around Boston. I was a hub of attorneys, case workers/managers, social workers, forms, and resources for my clients. I was the TA for the Missouri School of Journalism's Participatory Journalism class, which is a class that attempts to get the newsroom to get a two-way connection with the community. As this class's TA, I was the primary administrator and editor for MyMissourian.com, one of the oldest citizen journalism projects in the country (now "From Readers" at columbiamissourian.com). I edited articles and multimedia packages, coached students as they searched for stories, and wrote/produced stories.
