Ormsby Street collects millions of trade risk data points on a daily basis, and then uses big data tech and algorithms to predict SME trade credit risk in real time. This service provides SMEs with an award winning prediction based subscription service that allows them to understand and monitor the risk of extending business credit to any third party. The service is primarily distributed by banks and other service providers on a white label basis either on a subscription or value added basis.During my time with the company we expanded from 2 countries and 2 clients to a multinational company with clients such as Deutsche Bank, RBS and Barclays across countries including US, Germany, UK, Poland and Italy. We completed commercial partnerships with global and regional data agencies such as Experian, Dun and Bradstreet, Cerved and Buergel, scaled to real time monitoring and prediction of data on over 30m companies and developed significant IP through proprietary algorithm and insight engine development. As I exited the company it has just completed integrations with Xero and had won early access to UK OpenBanking as a winner of the Nesta OpenUp Challenge.We exited the business through a trade sale to Legal Zoom Inc., a US trade buyer backed by Permira PE.
