Serves as the agency’s national public health expert on critical issues in workplace health and safety, deployment health, emergency management, and response ensuring the health and safety of 17,000 employees.Manages several national workplace health and safety programs, to include the EPA’s organophosphate nerve agent and pesticide antidote program and the radiation dosimetry program.Develops recommendations for worker inclusion based on identified health hazards, assisting local and regional health and safety managers with evaluation of job hazard to identify environmental and occupational health hazards, developing appropriate controls, medical surveillance exam components, and requirements.As a COR-II, manages national contracts and interagency agreements in accordance with federal and EPA policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Leads a multidisciplinary team of 29 military, federal civilian and contract education staff in the design, development, and delivery of $2.2 million in public health professional education for Air Force officer, enlisted and civilian personnel. Directs education and curriculum development for the Air Force Public Health career field and preventive medicine curriculum for 13 additional career fields. Training consultant for Air Staff and Major Command Public Health Officers and Enlisted Functional Managers. Responsible for transforming Utilization and Training Workshops outcomes into next generation courses. Oversees scheduling of 67 instructors and guest lecturers, 479 lessons and 35 formal evaluations in 19 courses.

Led 1 officer, 13 enlisted, and 3 local national civilians. Directed 14 Public Health programs protecting the health of 5.3K installation personnel across 39 units enabling $70K in aircraft operations. Guided wing medical readiness and preventive programs; reduced disease incidence while promoting mission effectiveness for 21K personnel. Wing medical intelligence officer and alternate Public Health Emergency Officer; conducted health surveillance and threat assessments, advised Force Health Protection countermeasures. Sole active-duty DoD entomologist in the Republic of Korea; provided identification support and control recommendations for joint units protecting 51M citizens.

Led 18-member flight and alternate Public Health Emergency Officer; supported 3 wings and 5 Major Commands; advised wing leadership on disease prevention for 44K beneficiaries. Wing Medical Intelligence Med Intel Officer; oversaw deployment medical clearance process for 3.6K members/26.4K travel requirements. Monitored occupational health of 2.2K workers in 109 industrial workplaces; determined exam requirements and fitness for duty. Armed Forces Pest Management Board member; articulated Air Forces interests, identified gaps, needs, and risks; drove Office of Secretary of Defense policy and guidance.

Led 9 Engineering Operations and Readiness Functional Area Managers responsible for 9K engineers operating and maintaining a $15.7B infrastructure. Directed 47 CE Pest Managers and Quality Assurance Evaluators at 7 installations and 94 Geographically Separated Units; supported 2 Geographic Combatant Commanders; crafted vector control protocols to protect 68K active duty and dependents. DoD Pesticide Applicator Certifying Official; oversees DoD Measures of Merit and Environmental Protection Agency standards for pesticide use in European and Africa theaters. Pest Management Consultant to the commander; ensured command-wide compliance with Air Force, DoD, European Union, and Host Nation policies.

Provided direct supervision to 2 officers/1 NCO; managed all activities within the Entomology Education Section. Provided instruction in 8 USAFSAM courses; trained students from 16 career fields from Airmen Basic to Colonel; 4.1K CCAF credit hours awarded annually. Directed and instructed in the Operational Entomology course offered eight times annually to 150 Airmen across five career fields. Lead instructor of vector borne and zoonotic disease countermeasures in military, natural disaster, & international relief operations.
