After working in France for NUCO Travel, I was offered a full-time job to join the Customer Experience Team in Manchester. Prior to the season starting I was brought in to onboard and put together training for the new customer experience guides starting. My job role is to be on hand to manage and work closely with the customer service team and to help train the new starters and see them excel throughout the season. Being one of four team leaders we work closely to ensure our team can manage and respond to incidents and issues abroad. My job involves working closely with different departments such as the Account Management Team and Delivery Team meaning each day I am constantly learning and working with different departments. Using internal systems to deliver ski holidays, my knowledge has grown, and being able to work independently and in a team is important for the success of my job.

Working for one of the biggest companies in Student Snowsports, my job role was based in France working closely with resort managers to oversee the running of student holiday trips. For some weeks we had over 3000 students in resort and my job was to support critical elements of the arrivals process, such as managing key collection and being in contact with French suppliers. I was also in charge of heading competitions such as Oxford and Cambridge University races. My job further consisted of managing University committees to ensure the week was running smoothly. On top of this I was also responsible for managing the resort rep team, helping to deliver team meetings, and supporting resort managers with issues and incidents.

Spending most of my time waitressing my main responsibilities involved taking orders from customers, serving food and beverages, performing consistent check-ins with customers to make sure they are satisfied and addressing complaints quickly. I also assisted the team of hosts by greeting, seating and thanking customers as well as helping bartend when necessary.

I was on hand to respond to customer emails, phone calls and direct messages through the company’s intercom system. After 8 months at the company, I was promoted to the role of CS & Operations Team Leader overseeing 4 new starters. My new job role gave me the chance to manage the team while continuing my previous job with the added sole responsibility of liaising with 3rd party suppliers to make sure our passengers' needs in the ski resorts were adhered to. Working 6 day weeks during peak season (November to March), as well as early mornings and late nights meant time management was key. This role required me to have outstanding written and oral communication skills, confidentiality, diplomatic listening skills and the ability to liaise and manage people in the UK and abroad in France.
