Double Dutch to Dreams is a movement designed to inspire kids to be kids through the reinforcement of positive images, healthy fun and activity, life skills, community building and personal values training. It's not just about jumping rope, it's about building respectable leaders who understand the value of their lives, work to uphold positive images in the community and work hard to reach their goals and dreams. Our founder/CEO, Ebony Haynes, has always been passionate about working with youth and over the past few years she realized the many disparities hindering their growth. She wanted to find a way to engage youth and young adults to help keep them active and growing to their best selves. Double Dutch was one of many ways she remembers having fun, being active and in the community growing and building with one another. The goal of Double Dutch to Dreams is to promote kids getting back to physical activities and getting involved with their communities in an attempt to combat some of the major issues we face on a daily basis. Let’s get back to the basics and show our youth what it’s like to get out of the house, get moving and have some real classic fun!

Provides leadership and direction that ensures successful delivery and impact of Social Emotional Learning programs across the agency. Develops and manages delivery of program tools, methodology, metrics, and services as well as department budgets to ensure success of programs. Performs professional development training for staff to improve quality, workflow & performance.

I work closely with the Executive Director and the Associate Director to: -Cultivate new individual donors-Manage relationships with existing donors and foundations-Coordinate the Executive Director's fundraising schedule-Manage our Development systems -Ensure Fundraising Tasks are completed: Thank You notes, Grant Reports, Newsletters, etc.-Contribute to the League's overall organization narrative and branding strategyAny other tasks and responsibilities that will contribute to the League's Development work.

I worked to oversee efforts in identifying, attracting and recruiting new members. I developed on-site strategies and techniques as well as identified and developed new programs for external partnerships and member recruitment. I was a key player in developing and implementing marketing plans for promotions, events and anything else concerning the growth of my department through newsletters, on-site vehicles, E-news and social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.

I was the features editor of Echo Magazine (Columbia College's student magazine produced by a staff of Columbia students) during the Fall 2009 semester. I wrote 3 different stories for the publication, served as an editor for the features section, helped with the layout of pages and worked with the staff to ensure that Echo Magazine remained a quality student magazine!

Taught journalism and creative writing to summer school students at Roberto Clemente High School and the YMCA!

I began at the Chicago Tribune as a reporting intern for the RedEye!!! Reporting stories, creating headlines and interviewing people on the street for staff and editors. I was in charge of content for the Weekend Whoville scetion (a section devoted to the Who's Who and What's What in the entertainment world). I returned to the Chicago Tribune as a Junior in college to help with the launch of TheMash, a Chicago Public Sschool newspaper written by CPS Students. I was an editorial intern and helped conduct stories, run workshops/meetings with students and made sure the execution of the newspaper was effective and efficient.

Worked at Essence magazine as a summer intern in the Food Department as well as the Research Department. As an intern I spent the summer writing recipes, editing stories, fact-checking articles, crossword puzzles and books, assisting with food photoshoots, interviewing celebrities, attending events, and getting my work published in both the magazine and on the website (www.essence.com)

I began at Gumbo Teen Magazine produced by Strive Media Institute in 2003 when I was 14 years old as the News Reporter.Throughout my years with the company I moved from News Reporter, to Fashion Reporter to Sports Reporter to Editor-In-Chief by the time I was 17 (my senior year of High School and the program). I traveled the world interviewing sources, editing and reporting stories for teens all over the world to read and enjoy.Upon graduating from the program I recieved the Professionalism Award as well as the Star Student Reporter Award. I continued to work with Gumbo my freshmen year at Columbia as the College Correspondent.
