Currently, the New Jersey Unmanned Aviation Systems Test Site (NJUASTS) facilitates unmanned aerial research flight campaigns of UAS from less than 50 pounds up to and including 600 pound Class III Department of Defense systems. Under my broader mission, as the Executive Director of the NJUASTS I support economic development through corporate and academic users wishing to fly UAS missions that demonstrate technology development and novel applications of the technology, advancement of UAS platforms and applications design, bringing new sensor, communications and other payload functions into flight operation and other flight activities.Successfully established over 26,000 square miles of complex operational airspace through multiple FAA Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COA’s) allowing the operations of Unmanned Aviation Systems flight campaigns within the National Airspace.
