I finally get to be involved in Exploring and Drilling in Ohio. Still doing the unconventional thing, but with the real option of drilling some new targets.Tasks and accomplishments include:• Spearheaded vendor planning and contract negotiations for geology operations comprised of logging, coring, and geosteering programs for both the Utica and Marcellus unconventional shale plays. • Conducted operations for horizontal geosteering using LWD, pre-planning, and post-analysis, including 24/7 coverage for up to four rigs.• Evaluated production and completion results for current design optimization; initial results showed success in using geological rock data to locate stages. • Completed basin evaluations (subsurface maps, cross-sections, GIP maps, etc.) for hydrocarbon potential (unconventional and conventional targets) to add reserves and/or acreage to the current portfolio. • Attended data rooms and acquisition meetings for acreage in the Utica and Marcellus plays with VPs and CEO.

Continuing to work operations on the exploration side in Shell's newly aquired Marcellus Gas play. Mentoring rotational exploration Shell staff on operations, and sharing my learnings from a year on the develeopment team. Further exploring the Appalachian region for additional prospects.Resonsibilities and accomplishments include:• Utilized 2D seismic data and well logs to map and analyze acreage and new play possibilities. Focused on historical and step-out shallow conventional oil plays for enhanced oil recovery, (EOR.) • Permitted 4 shallow well locations for EOR play; all 4 have been drilled to-date with good results. • Mentored exploration team and rotational geologists from other Shell sectors in Horizontal Well Drilling Operations. • Continued to cover the Exploration Rigs 24/7 drilling operations.

Working operations for the Production/Developement team in Shell's aquired Marcellus Shale Gas position. Including well planning, geosteering, subsurface modeling, and some project economics.Job included the following:• Supported 100+ onshore unconventional wells at some point in their lifespan. • Monitored up to three rigs 24/7 as Production/Operation Geologist• Handled pad planning, well permitting, subsurface prognosis, daily operations, geosteering, and oversight of coring and logging evaluation programs for wells drilled on my three rigs.
Exploration Geologist
Working deepwater exploration in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Projects and accomplishments include:• Interpreted newly acquired 3D seismic data (PSDM- post-stack depth migration) for Norphlet exploration prospects in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. • Served as member of the deepwater prospect Appomattox PDT, drilling and coring the discovery well. Determined casing points, created subsurface geological prognosis, planned post-well evaluations, and described the core. Also was operations geologist during drilling and on-site for coring. • Served as PDT lead on Gettysburg project prior to transfer. Started the project timeline and initial horizon mapping using the PSDM data. Previous work for Shell includes: Exploration for Shale gas and a 2005 Internship.
