Emma Cornish – Elite Equine Care BHSAI (Qualified 1993)IGEQ International Coach Level 1 (Riding)FEI Veterinary Testing TechnicianGroom Of The Year 2023Dr David Marlin Expert Panel Member I am a self employed freelance groom who set up my business, Elite Equine Care at the start of 2023. Elite Equine Care has gone from strength to strength and has very quickly gained the superior recognition for very high standards and customer service. With 30+ years of qualified professional work experience across multiple disciplines within the equestrian field and veterinary sector I have gained an exceptional portfolio of knowledge and experience.Having travelled the world volunteering and working with the majority of top level competitions and organising committees, I really have gone global! London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics is where the journey started, which has led to another 2 Olympic Games, 2 World Equestrian Games, European championships and 5* competitions.Closer to home I have a strong and loyal commercial and private client base with a variety of dressage, eventing, pony club, rehabilitation, retired and family horses in my care.Since the creation of Elite Equine Care I have gone from strength to strength, working hard and focusing on gaining an excellent reputation. Having successfully completed the FEI Veterinary Testing Technician exam this year, I now work alongside the FEI Testing Veterinarian while at FEI competitions across the UK. I have travelled to France twice in 2023, working alongside the Organising Committee in Haras Le Pin for the eventing European Championships in August and Pau in October for the last 5* competition of the year. The year has been rounded off with being awarded the prestigious Equestrian Business Awards Groom Of The Year 2023 after being nominated by my clients and judged by industry peers. I am an ambitious and focused equestrian who is continually pushing myself and gaining further knowledge, qualifications and experiences. There are exciting plans ahead for 2024 which include working at further 4*& 5* events across the UK and continent, with the possibility of further afield too (currently top secret). Exciting new collaborations which will expand my skill set further with the opportunity to pass this knowledge onto clients and horse owners. Growing Equine Elite Care presence on social media and exploring new avenues for blogs, reviews and video diaries while out and about. I would also love to develop my mentoring, support grooms and have the ability to give back to the profession.
