I believe in taking responsibility and doing the right thing, I’m not one for passing the buck. I’m also very open-minded and curious; it’s one of the reasons I love working in technology. Looking to the future at what is coming is not only exciting, it also gives me hope for the future. Whilst there are potentially damaging inventions I’m relieved to say that there are also many new things to improve people’s lives for the better. These range from new medical breakthroughs that allow people to walk, hear, see and think better to environmental products that will help protect our planet.So how does my job make life better for people? When I’m working to improve a website, I’m thinking about how to make the users experience better by saving them time and effort. When I’m developing a new proposition, such as Internet of Things (IOT), I’m thinking about security, proof of value and how the solution might help people offer a better service to their customers. As a lifelong learner I have many interests which I follow by listening to podcasts, reading, or taking courses. In the past few years this has included online marketing, cyber security, AI, coding, Agile, copywriting, and even cartooning. This passion for learning is what drives me to investigate, experiment and think about how existing and emerging technology products and processes can help people achieve what they want to either in life... or simply just for that day.I’ve done lots of things in my career and I’ve become really good at problem solving with root-cause analysis, simplifying technical geek speak into something easily understood and creative solutions thinking.I’m also a helpful person. I’m the person that others turn to when they want to get something delivered. So what drives me? It’s finding the most efficient, ethical and appropriate way to help my customers. Whatever they want to do, wherever they want to do it.
