Retired in 2007 after a 42-year career in civil engineering, including two years of active military duty as instructor at the U.S. Army Engineering School, Fort Belvior, Viriginia. Upon discharge, worked and lived in Memphis for ten years. While in Memphis worked for Harland Bartholemew & Associates, a regional planning and engineering firm, as well as Buchart-Horn, and William S. Pollard Consultants. After leaving Memphis, worked in the North Little Rock office of an Oklahoma architectual and engineering firm, before purchasing a local surveying and engineering firm and moving to Batesville, Arkansas. Returned to work for Harland Bartholomew & Associates and moved to Marion in 1986. Parsons Corporation purchased HB&A soon after my return and I continued with HBA / Parsons until retiring. Project experience was varied including working on multi-discipline teams preparing comprehensive city plans, street and drainage design, water and sewer design, subdivision design, and transportation related projects. After returning to HBA / Parsons most of my project experience involved planning, environmental documentation and design of major transportation projects. Have served on the Marion Planning Commission since 1996. After retiring from Parsons, took the job of part-time Planner for the City of Marion.
